Distributed generation has been widely admitted as a cheap, efficient and cleaning power. In order to meet the continuously increasing demand for electricity, many distributed generators were connected to existing power systems, which made a model capable of not only computing the maximum penetration level of connected distributed generators but also evaluating the influence of their connections extremely necessary.Meanwhile, incorporating distributed generators will bring a series of technical problems, one of which is voltage regulation. Voltage regulation includes two fields: one is voltage rise near the end of the feeder: another is the tap hunting phenomenon of tap change under load (TCUL) transformers. The scope of my paper is on the research of resolving these problems discussed above. The paper makes study according to following structure. The first part explains the concept, classification and character. The second part introduces the maximum penetration level and methods about analyzing it. The third part analyzes the voltage regulation and the impacts on voltage profiles mainly. The last part discusses with an actual example.
