As a kind of basic Rectifier, Current Source Rectifier can be used in all kinds of ways as Voltage Source Rectifier. Current Source Rectifier has more advantages especially in superconducting magnetic energy storage than other rectifiers. For these reasons, research work on Current Source Rectifier can make sense. This paper includes following aspects:In chapter one, a survey of the published literature of topology, math model, control strategy of Current Source Rectifier and Voltage Source Rectifier have been presented. Also a survey of the published literature of the application of the Current Source Rectifier has been briefly introduced.In chapter two, the low frequency models and the high frequency models are developed. The goal is to design a controller to realize the various strategies outlined in later chapter .In addition this chapter introduced the features between Current Source Rectifier and Voltage Source Rectifier.In chapter three, Tri-logic SPWM operation on Current Source Rectifier was introduced. How to design a controller of Current Source Rectifier has been analyzed in detail.In chapter four, detailed analysis of a Current Source Rectifier was outlined in terms of the component selection and the limitations imposed by stabale operation. Also the considerations involved in the modulator design were presented. A matlab model has been developed to implement the design and verify the proper operation of the algorithms. A device was developed to verify with previously published analysis and experimental measurements has been given on a 1.5 KVA Current Source Rectifier device.
