Access Database Of Ship Power Plant Fault Diagnosis Expert System

Nowadays, the marine engineers on board ship can only solve some ordinary problems, Most of serious and all round troubles are remedied by ship's maintaining experts on shore. The power plant system in engine room of modern vessels is more variable, more complicated and highly automated demanding for higher maintenance skills, which is beyond the ability of ordinary engineers. Once a trouble occurs, the engineers generally can not handle it timely. This will effect shipping safety and scheduled arriving. Shipping companies pay for big expense for this maintenance. In this way, a fault diagnosis expert system is very necessary to be developed and installed on board ship.This paper introduced the fault diagnosis expert system for ship power plant in three parts.Firstly, it introduces the definition and basic methods of fault diagnosis, which can be used on board ship. The actualities and research development of the fault diagnosis expert system in China and other countries is introduced, together with the research work and practical significance of project. After that the principle of the fault diagnosis expert system and its developing tools and design method were also introduced.Secondly, the design of the fault diagnosis expert system for ship power plant system is described in details. The advanced Data Base technology was introduced into the expert system. On the basis of Access 2000 Data Base in the system, knowledge base of the expert system was built up, which includes the rule precondition table, the rule conclusion table and dictionary table. The reasoning of knowledge base is more effective and more convenient for practical use. The reasoning machine was designed on the basis of the uncertain inferential modal with reliability. This system is very similar to expert, which also reflects actual faulty environment of equipment more completely. This system can also solve simultaneous problem with multi-trouble and multi-symptom situations. The man-machine interfaces are better friendly, which was programmed with VB5.0.Lastly, the software of the fault diagnosis expert system for ship power plant system was successfully debugged, some programming codes are given out in this paper. Practical example of this software is introduced together with utilization method and procedures.
