Urban Public Transport Sustainable Development Problems

Sustainable development as a relatively new strategy is changing people's ideas and living habits, at the same time sustainable development also as a new theory framework is getting to be developed more perfect. Sustainable development is a very popular subject all over the world and the scholars in every discipline and every field are actively taking the corresponding researches based on the sustainable development to try to use the theory of sustainable development to guide his discipline' and his field' development.Public transportation sustainable development is a comprehensive concept which combining the socioeconomics, environment, population, technology, culture, so it does not only include the temporal and spatial sustainability but also contain the more sustainability regarding to the concepts of integration, harmony, optimization, efficiency, equity and circulation.Public transportation sustainable development involves many factors, so this paper focuses on the relationship between public transportation and individual modes, the structure of public transportation, the relationship between public transportation and land use, the relationship between public transportation and environment and the energy shortage issue. After making the mentioned analysis, this paper concludes those subject's impacts on the public transportation. Based on the impact analysis, this paper presents the strategies and measures of public transportation sustainable development. Finally, this paper represents the indicators and evaluation model of public transportation sustainable development.
