It has important theory meaning and realizing value that the detection of the asphalt mixture is used in the asphalt surface road's employing. But the measurement technology that used currently is depended on manual operation manner and has many disadvantages. With the development of the Digital Image Processing (DIP) technology, many methods and arithmetic have been more and more perfect. The paper uses the DIP technology in the detection of the asphalt mixture and this brings a intelligent measurement method.The paper studies on the pattern recognition and evaluation system of the asphalt mixture. Firstly, the paper introduces the using of the asphalt mixture, the measurement technology that used in the recent years and describes those technology's characters. Based on the DIP's basic conception and method's description, the paper expounds the application of the DIP in the detection of the asphalt mixture. For the subject's integrity, the paper narrates the image smoothing, enhancement, segmentation and margin tracking that has been realized before. Then, in the subject, the paper focuses on discussing the using of the wavelet denoising and the wiener filter that belongs to image restoration technology. For the more, the article expoundes image database and data fit. Thus, the pattern recognition and evaluation system of the asphalt mixture has more higher precision and reaches more and more perfection.
