The mined-out area is leaved behind underground hole because of mining. With the rapid development of traffic, as ill geology phenomenon, the problem of mined-out area become more and more outstanding. So the research of mined-out area is very important to highway engineering. Based on analyzed and summarized the predecessors' research achievement, the author gained some useful research results in order to serve for practical engineering and offer some available guidance.(1 )The author comprehensive analyzed the relative research literature, explained the form of mined-out area and the basic characters and rules of upper rock movement, and summarized the sink pattern theories. In addition, the author offer stress calculated formula of hole wall of mined-out area.(2) Based on elastic-plastic theory, the author built a simple but practical 2D analysis model of mined-out area underlying highway adopting relative modeling methods of finite element and then simulated mined-out area around rock stress distribution, draw some pictures according to large quantity simulated data to analyze affect of mined-out area shape, rock material and surface loads to stress distribution and rock stability.(3 ) According to analysis of mined-out area roof collapse, the author researched reduced sink principle of grouting treatment, simulated effect of grouting treatment and stress distribution of grouted rock .(4) Used built finite element model, the author analyzed and estimated stability of mined-out area underlying Tan Shao highway and achieved good results, systematically discussed the methods to define treatment range of mined-out area underlying highway and treatment methods , construct process and etc.The research achievement will make a preferably direction to practical treatment project.
