Harmonic pollution is a great obstacle to the development of power electronics technology. Therefore, reducing pollution generated by power electronics equipment especially AC/DC rectifiers and improving the quality of input current and power factor are paid attention increasingly by the domestic and foreign scholars .One of the key factors of affecting power factor of rectifiers is control technique. One Cycle Control is a large signal nonlinear PWM technology, which basic concept is to force the average of the controlled switch-variable to be equal or proportional to the control reference in each switch cycle. One Cycle Control technique has the merits of simple circuit structure, high control precision, fast dynamic response and control performance not affected by the variable of power parameters. It is very suitable for Power Factor Correction(PFC) circuit.Based on referring to a lot of literatures, taking single-phase power factor correction systems as an object, this paper introduces the classification and the virtues and defects of correction technology for active power factor and One Cycle Control technology is lucubratedTaking Boost converter as an example, One Cycle Controlled PFC is analyzed. The control equation, the stability, the large signal model and the small model are discussed. A novel power factor correction main circuit with center-tapped inductor is designed and the particular scheme is given in the dissertation. A 500W prototype of Boost PFC system based on One Cycle Control is built to verify the theoretical analysis. and then, control circuit of one cycle controlled Boost PFC rectifier is improved with the basic idea of One Cycle Control.Simulation and experimental results prove that the Boost PFC rectifier with the proposed controller can achieve low current distortion and unity power factor. The control method is simple and reliable.
