Sanitary ceramics are widely used in modern families. Since 1993,China has become the biggest country in the world in sanitary ceramics production and consumption. Referring to product quality, the products which are made by Chinese companies are second-class or third-class;and the better products are almost produced by foreign companies. The low product quality is owing to the backward production method. Domestic ceramic companies produce sanitary appliances still in the traditional way, which leads to long R&D period and high cost. It is clear that it' s not good for product development and quick response to market demands.In order to improve the traditional ceramic companies' development level, the secondary-development CAD software adopts the oriented technology design method. This secondary development is combined with enterprises' practical needs and based on the current CAD software UG The secondary development software improves the design efficiency.This thesis includes the following contents:1. After analyzing current research situation of Mould CAD technology and second developing tools, the author decides to adopt the following method: The developer needs to study development method of UG completely and realize the whole process of development, including: application program interface of UG NX based on VC++6.0, customization of MenuScript and User Tools of UG NX, visible design application of UG/Open UIStyler of UG NX, studying the relation of different customer interface of UG NX.2. The UlStyler is used to design the CAD software's user interface and MenuScript is used to build user menu. The UG provides the development environment.3. According to the production process of ceramic industry, the product model's pocket parts need to be simplified.4. According to the experience of production and the software engineerknowledge, the mould CAD software includes the following parts: input file% pre-disposak extract moulds mould outside disposal.5. This thesis studies the method of choosing parting face and the method of extracting moulds.6. Shrinking rates and warp rates of the toilet model and their variations in all directions are studied. Simplifying method is carried out on the premise of guaranteeing quality, to favor the post-processing of the mould.The mould CAD software provides friendly guiding dialog. With the guiding dialog, users can easily extract the mould. This mould CAD software improves the design efficiency greatly.
