Abstract/Summary:
Strengthening using rivets anchoring steel plate is a new strengthening technique in the engineering of reinforcing and renovating of concrete structures which can improve the bearing capacity of structure. This technology is easy to operate, and is reliable because it's quality can be confidently controlled.Experimental investigate on the diagonal section shear capability of the reinforced concrete beams strengthened using rivets anchoring steel plate. Strengthening mechanism is analyzed on capacity improvement through rivets anchoring steel plate at the basis of experiment result. A corresponding formula on the diagonal section shear resistance of strengthened beam and measurements of structure for design is proposed.By comparing the shear capability of the beams strengthened by bond steel and rivets anchoring steel plate. It shows that the shear resistance of the beam strengthened by rivets anchoring steel plate is higher. Failure form of the beam strengthened by steel plate anchored with rivets is ductile, and the beam strengthened by bond steel is brittle. And the former is more effectively on control the diagonal section cracks grows process than the latter. Anyway, strengthening technique using rivets anchoring steel plate can replace the bond steel as a reliable strengthening technique.Application in the actual project of strengthening technique using rivets anchoring steel plate is introduced, this technique has a good economy and society profit in the field of engineering of reinforcing and renovating of concrete structures.
