Though Geotechnical Engineering has a very long history, such as the cave dwelling house were one of its earliest examples in history of people, it was regarded as a technology by international academic circles less then fifty years. Nowadays, the development of Geotechnical Engineering in China and its practice are first-class all over the world. Geotechnical anchor technique was the most mature, the most economic and the most dependable engineering technology to ensure the success and safety of Geotechnical Engineering. It has been the significant key technology in some Geotechnical Engineering.Today, it makes the best opportunity for the research and development of geotechnical anchor technique that the Geotechnical Engineering building are being constructed national-widely. Facing the complex engineering construction demands and researching the developmental present condition of anchorage technique in the developed country, such as, England, Australia, Germany, America and Japan, it still has the shortcoming and diversity on some aspects, for instance the mechanism of anchorage bar (cable) transferring load, the system of big anchor force, the construction machinery, the monitoring equipment and the long-term behavior of anchorage bar (cable), etc.. Especially, the study of anchor mechanism has been laid behind the engineering practice most.At first, based on the analysis and summarized and the difference of the slope failure and deformation, the slope failure synthetic engineering classification method was put forward on this paper. Then the loess strata were selected as researching target. And the mechanism of anchorage bar (cable) in loess strata was summarized based on the field tests. At last, two formulae were derived from two special mechanism of the mechanism of the anchorage bar (cable) transferring load that could calculate the anchor force and the anchorage length. The formulae were used to direct the engineering practice and had derived good effect.
