| The poor quality of aggregate and the unreasonable content of natural sand were often found in the highway construction in China. To provide theoretic basis for solving these problems, the paper analyzes the effect of the geometrical characteristics of aggregate on asphalt mixture by lab tests.This paper studied the effect of flat and elongated particles on the performance of three kinds of asphalt mixture such as water stability, high temperature stability and anti-fatigue performance. This paper studied the fine aggregate angularity by uncompacted void content, flow times and CAR tests. The relation between the performance and three methods was studied. This paper studied the effect of four kinds of fine aggregate on asphalt mixture.Through lab tests it is shown that the aggregate have obvious effect on asphalt mixture. |
