There are plenty of centrifugal pumps in Shandong filiale of Aluminum corporaton of China limited. The main types of shaft seal are soft packing seal and contacting mechanical seal.While using the soft packing seal the phenomena of cooling water internally revealing and materiel outward revealing are grave when the packing set vulcanize.Which will not only affects the environment but also raises the cost of alumina.If using the ordinary contacting mechanical seal the alumina grains may lead to abrasion of seal.And the lifetime is only 2 to 3 months.Which can not only raise the cost of mechanical seal but also make the sael's lifetime well under the pump's repair cycle.So we cann't entirely use the ordinary contacting mechanical seal. According to the theory of non-contacting mechanical seal,we decide to develop a new type of integrated Fluid Lubrication Non-contacting Mechanical Seal.The fluid Lubrication Non-contacting Mechanical Seal is designed according to the principle of upper pumping.The characteristic is that in the running course of dynamic ring and the static ring,the notch on the dynamic ring anfd the cooling water can form dynamic pressure film and static pressure film.The breakaway force can separate the dynamic ring and the static ring. In the middle of which, the lubricating film more than 5 um forms.As the notch on both sides of the dynamic ring are different,the forming dynamic pressure film and the static pressure film can prevent the stuff and cooling water revealing.It can also prevent the solid grain more than 5 um going between the ynamic ring and the static ring to wear the seal.And the possible solid grain under 5um can not make abrasion for the sake of the thickness of the lubricating film.This raise the lifetime of the mechanical seal.And it can also raise the efficiency of the pump,reduce of the usage of electricity.In allusion to the craftwork condition, we chose the bad- sealed feed pump for the stocking filter as the fisrt target thruogh the application study. We specially design the non-contacting mechanical seal for industrial purpose.In the application,we use the experimental way of contrast. Putting the ordinary contacting mechanical seal and the non-contacting mechanical seal at the sam surroundings, contrast the whole course and make data collecting and analyse.At the base of which,we repeated amending the design.The result proved the seal's good leak tightness, stability,reliability and economical efficiency.Unlike the academic and aboratory study,the subject's significance lies in the urgent need of knotty technical questions in the project,especially in the application field.The subject provide another solution for the sealing in alumina production.The subject has been listed as one of the scientific projects.
