The research of the influence of the long slop alignment on drivers' psychology and physiology is of great benefit to the design of long slop sections and traffic safety. The theory of traditional road alignment design based on vehicle driving theory can barely satisfy the requirement of traffic safety and driving comfort, as the traffic amount increases. This study is based on the driving safety, together with the humanism, and applies the theory of medical science, psychology and physiology. At the same time, the experiment and test device is used to do many driving experiments on different roads, and the data is analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively.According to the driving tests on different slop, curve segments and expressway, this study analyzes the relationship between the heart rate of the driver, vehicle speed and long slop alignment index through discussing the law of drivers' heart rate which is affected by alignment. And the effects of the combination of curve with slop section and exceeding behavior to the nervousness of drivers are also considered. From many aspects the paper contrasts the differences of the vehicle speed, the heart rate between the express-way, long slop sections and different drivers, while analyzing the heart rate with the digital signal theory and MATLAB software. By using the theory and method of mathematical statistics and mathematical modeling, a regression model of the driver's heart rate, car speed and long slop alignment index is established as the speed and long slop alignment index are taken as independent variables. At last the paper utilizes the model to discuss the effect of the long slop alignment index on traffic safety and drivers' psychology, and then provides technical support for the revision of technical standard for long slop sections and alignment design.
