Recently, the western region of our country's highway transportation developing rapidly, the construction and traffic mileage of highway is increasing year by year, and the traffic infrastructure construction is improving constantly. As an important part in the transportation system of the western region, the plateau highway is an important guarantee for the economic development and people lives in the plateau area.Influenced by the complex geological conditions and elevation changes, there are many horizontal and vertical alignment combination shape in the plateau highway alignment structure. If the combination of horizontal and vertical alignment is not good, it will affect on the driving comfort seriously, and leading to dangerous driving. The plateau hypoxia environment can also influenced the driver's driving operation with the elevation of the altitude. Therefore, it is necessary to study the changes of physiological characteristics of the drivers on the highway alignment combination sections, and provide a theoretical basis for the driver's safe driving and optimization of the highway alignment combination design parameters in plateau. In this paper, a large number of on-the-spot test are carried out on the highway of 314 national to measures the values of the physiological index of the drivers. An research of the relationship between the physiological indicators of drivers and the plateau road environment with the theory of related mathematical theories and methods. After a preliminary analysis, we know that the driver's heart rate growth and EEG beta band power value index are largely effected by the plateau road environment, and we use the two indexes in the further analysis.Using the method of regression analysis, established the relational model between the growth of heart rate and experimental road alignment, elevation, and relations between the brain waves of beta band power value and elevation, road alignment. Analysis results show that, higher altitudes and greater alignment combination will lead the driver's heart and EEG beta band power growth rapidly, and the tension of the driver increased significantly. According to the analysis and discussion of the model, the numerical control of the linear combination index on the plateau road is suitable for 50, which is consistent with the physiological characteristics of the driving drivers.
