With the development of power system in China, the Long-Distance and Heavy-Load transmission line project becomes more and more important. And finding a corridor for transmission line becomes more and more difficult. As one of the solution for these problems, Compact-Type transmission line is widely used in recent transmission projects.The arrangement of conductors in a Compact-Type transmission line is very different from the Conventional-Type transmission line. the essential difference between the two type is, for the Compact-type line, conductors of the 3 phase are arranged in the same tower-window, so there haven't any grounding structure between two phase conductors. Thus, the width of transmission corridor is greatly compressed.For the other hand, the Compact-Type transmission line have better electrical parameters than Conventional-Type transmission line, that is because the arrangement of conductors in a Compact-Type line is more symmetrical than a Conventional-Type, so the inductance of line is reduced and the capacity of line is increased.In this article, a more practical arrangement of Compact-Type line is discussed .and the conclusion of this arrangement is more economically in this period.With the practically used in project, some questions are put forward and resolved in this article, such as: the selection of conductor, the mechanical analysis of V-type insulator strings, the design or insulation, the insulation between two phase conductors, etc. These problems are all well solved.
