By the success of development in microwave heating highroad equipment forcuring, a kind of heating technique applied in curing machinery-microwave heatingtechnique is proved advisable and advanced besides favorable economic and socialbenefits. And in recent years various diseases of asphalt pavements have appeared,microwave heating equipments for asphalt pavements curing are firstly manufacturedin a company according to market development demand.Firstly the feature of microwave heating equipments for asphalt pavements curingand the curing situation of asphalt pavements are introduced briefly in this paper.Microwave heating asphalt equipments have been proved advisable and advancedstrongly. That magnetron is the heart of microwave heating is well known so theworking principle of magnetron, that is, the microwave energy generate process andthe microwave heating principle are expounded in the paper. In addition, permittivity isalso an important parameter in microwave heating. Effects of material physicalcharacteristic on heating and effects of typical parameters on permittivity are analyzedsimply in the paper. The permittivity of asphalt is measured and analyzed.Based in the above theory and experimentation, the author has optimized thesingle radiator on the heating motorcar. The important optimization is the mountingposition of magnetron. The reflected power of the optimized model is greatly reducedcompared with the non-optimized model, and the results are proved byexperimentation. The optimization not only satisfies the demand for heating efficiency,but also in favor of the use life of magnetron. A new shape of horn radiator has beenoptimized, not only the good performance, but also the simple structure beneficial toprocessing and fixing.The coupling problem of the radiator array has been studied by simulation incomputer. The couple degree of radiators is known by simulation so that we can adjustthe spacing of radiators in order to the most energy output. The injury of microwave tobody and the protective actions on the microwave heating car are introduced partly.
