| Microwave heating is a new heating technology, and it has been used in maintenance of asphalt pavement. Infrared Ray heating however has been a mature heating technology of asphalt pavement. In order to evaluate technical performance asphalt pavement in the microwave heating and infrared ray heating. A series of tests are carried out to analyze the characteristics of high temperature rutting, low temperature crack resistance, water stability, fatigue resistance. At the same time, using microwave heating machines, study on uniformity and best thickness of asphalt surface; Finally, the properties of asphalt are analysed in order to research the aging action of asphalt mixture with the different heating methods. The results showed that the pavement performance of Microwave heating is better than others; microwave heating has some advantages such as uniformity, working quickly and deeply etc. The Microwave heating has better social, economic effective and good prospect.
