At first ,the thesis makes an introduction of the FSS, which includes it's structure , electromagnetic characteristic, application and numerical methods of the FSS. It makes a simply introduction of the application of finite element method in the scattering problem. Then it summarizes the former expert's production about the usage of the FEM in the analysis of FSS problem. The finite element basis is the edge-based basis, the expansion form includes 2-D and 3-D problem is given. The structure to be studied is the single infinite FSS array, so it is important to know the field of the structure. The thesis gives the scalar and the vector fluoquet mode form. Through examples, it makes analysis of the medium's effect to the structure. To analyze the single FSS array, it combines the FEM and the boundary integral equation. Then, the weak formula is given. The processing of the boundary condition is also the contents. The code in this thesis is programmed using the Fortran language, and the result is given. At last ,the HFSS 10.0 software is used to simulate the structure. It gives the simulation theory and method, and then four example and result are given.
