CSCD (Computer Supported Cooperative Design) has been one of the key technologies in the field of digital design and manufacture under the network environment, and the cooperative design system between heterogeneous CAD systems is one research hot about it. This article has conducted the research to heterogeneous CAD cooperative design systems. The former cooperative design systems often adopt the method of transmission datum of the model, but under the present network's band width, it is very difficult to achieve real-time communication between different users through this method. In view of the present situation, this article conducts the research about the platform technology of different CAD cooperative design, and proposes a method based on feature-mapping to realize synchronization cooperative design of heterogeneous CAD systems, this method is allowed to realize synchronized cooperative design between heterogeneous CAD systems effectively.Firstly, this article introduces the architecture of the heterogeneous CAD cooperative design systems, and has given the system's level model and function model, through contrasting the following two kinds of typical architectures: the central type and the duplication type, we proposed using the mixed type to construct the system.Secondly, we analyze the flaws of the data exchange methods between the existing different CAD systems, and proposed feature-mapping-based heterogeneous CAD cooperative design method, this method uses the combine of the feature-mapping and the neutral modeling language to realize data exchange of heterogeneous CAD systems, and it has fully used the CAD system model ling's high level expression homoplasy, avoids the low part's data distinctness, has realized the interoperability between heterogeneous CAD systems.Thirdly, this article analyses the key technologies which involved in heterogeneous CAD cooperative design, and introduces technology of feature marking mapping, revision and deletion operation, hook function, Socket programming and so on. This article divides the system into the following three parts: the operation information's capture, the feature parameters' gain and produce, the information's processing, and gives a detail introduction about this three parts' function and realization method. Finally, this article has provided a cooperative design system model based on SolidWorks and SolidEdge.
