Transporting water from south to north is a large water conservancy works for relieving lack of water resource of northern region of our country. The main function of the project is to change natural distribution of water resource, so it is an important basal establishment for optimizing water resource. As a building of transporting water spanning rivers, large-scale aqueduct plays an important role in this water conservancy works. It is important to insure the seismic resistance security of large-scale aqueduct under earthquake load. In this dissertation, the theory and application of seismic response analysis for large-scale aqueduct is studied in details. The main contents are stated as follows:1. Dynamic Modeling Study of Large-Scale AqueductBased on theory of finite strip method, a model for dynamic analysis of aqueduct structure is presented by the dynamic body cross section structure regulation of the length orientation. In this model some aspects can be considered, including structural characteristic and action of local components, for example, brace deformation and elastic influence of the rubber supports with basin-shape. It is confirmed that the model of this paper is simple and practical for dynamic analysis of the large scale.2. Analysis for Dynamic Characteristic of Large-scale AqueductBy compiling Matlab program, the modes and the vibration frequencies of the aqueduct of a large-scale aqueduct are examined. The computational are good, compared with ansys software's. So the model of this paper is correctness. The dynamic characteristic of large-scale aqueduct is analyzed under on three cases. Influence of water lever, brace section size, brace height on dynamic characteristic of the aqueduct is investigated. The results are applied to seismic-resistance design of large-scale aqueduct.3. Seismic Response Analysis of Large-scale AqueductThe earthquake time history response of large-scale aqueduct is studied under three cases, during respectively inputting three synchronous earthquake waves—EL-Centro wave, Taft wave, Tianjin wave, the trend of earthquake response of large-scale aqueduct t is given out.In this dissertation, water conservancy works transporting water from south to north id studied by combing theory and practice. The achievements are directly applied to practical engineering.
