With the rapid development of National Economy and Urban Constructive of our country, usages of overground and underground space are increased significantly. Most of deep excavation has relationships with the dewatering. How to control water level to ensure security of foundation pit and adjacent building is very important. The primary aim to dewatering design is to predict water level and settlement. Particular measure can be taken to reduce the influence of dewatering and settlement. Because of the rapid development of computer technology, it is possible that computer used for visualization of dewatering and settlement prediction.The main works and achievements completed are as followsThe first, yielding water of foundation pit in different hydrology and geological condition and yielding water of single well in different well are calculated based on basic theory of dewatering in foundation pit. The number and arrangement of well are designed and then the water level can be predicted.The second, The dynamic water level can be predicted through the Transient Seepage theory.To get the data of settlement of ground surface, the theory of settlement of ground surface was analyzed. Settlement model of stratified summation method based on the Terzaghi's concretion theory was educed. Settlement data with time and position can be obtained through the model. Ground settlement due to water level's decrease can be predicted.A visualization program dewatering in foundation pit and surface settlement is developed on the base of VB and Surfer, it can create look down and section graph of foundation pit, 2D isoline graph and 3D surface isoline graph of dewatering and surface settlement. Using the interface of Visual Basic 6.0 and Word, original and intermediate data, arrangement graph of well and 2D isoline graph and 3D surface isoline graph of dewatering and surface settlement are made into Computing-Book for report of design or archives.
