Castellated beams, characterized by rational section form, large flexural stiffness, high load-carrying capacity and prominent economic efficiency, and so on, are often used in long-span structures. At present there is no technical standard on castellated beams in our country. Regarding the deflection of castellated beams, due to the lack of convenient and uniform calculation method and the lack of research work to the deflection of tapered castellated beams, the prevalent use of castellated beams has been restricted. Therefore, it is necessary to do more researches on the existent problems. The main research work covers the following aspects:1. The deflections in a castellated beams are calculated by the simple theory of bending in which it is assumed that the castellated beams behaves as a Vierendeel truss. Based on amounts of finite analysis, the parameter of the Vierendeel truss has been deduced.2. Equivalent Stiffness Method and expressions of equivalent stiffness have been put forward in the thesis. Based on amounts of finite analysis, the rationality of Equivalent Stiffness Method has been proved. By applying equivalent stiffness and structural mechanics formulaes to the calculation of deflection of castellated beam makes it not only more convenient but also more precise.3. Axial effect of restraint of beam with both ends built-in has been found and ansys. The analysis has indicated that the more Opening rates or the less span-depth ratio,so the evidencer axial effect of restraint of beam with both ends built-in, and ignoring this effect is safety in practice.4. Based on the convert of calculate expression, the author of the thesis has deduced the rapid design method to the calculation inflect and shearing deflection of I-shaped beam with solid web and varied depth has been put forward,which can avoid numerical integration.5. The author of the thesis has deduced the formulaes to the calculation of inflect and shearing deflection of tapered castellated beam, and the parameter of the Vierendeel truss has been deduced. The calculation result accord with FEA very good.
