Adding coagulation is the most important part in the domestic routine water-supply process. It is a hot topic on how to accurately add coagulation based on factual working condition. The article is under the background of a factual project which uses an important branch of intelligent control: Artificial Neural Network (ANN). And it models a control method by using the theory and character of ANN, tries to find a new valid control method of coagulation. Meanwhile, ANN itself is adaptable to the complex nonlinear system. It will be flexible to solve the nonlinear and delay problems in a control system, because of its characters. In addition, it also adopts the rich manual information and achieves efficient coagulation addition in the process of water-supply. So, it will emphasize on the control model of coagulation on the basis of artificial intelligent information. At first, it introduces the technical flow of domestic water supply in this article. Then, it provides a whole DCS system and gives each sub-system a brief introduction.Secondly, it researches the theory and functions of coagulation in water supply, analyzes the relationship between the coagulation's quantities and water's quality, designs a combined control model, including ANN model and forward compensation with experts' experience. The aim of modeling such a model is to solve two problems: 1. how to determine the right quantity of coagulation under the factual condition? 2. how to response and adjust the quantity of coagulation once the sudden change appears. Finally, try to put such control model into experiment. The results are showed that this control model not only realizes the automation of adding coagulation, reduces the labor's working intensity, but also is useful to enhance the automation of domestic water supply.
