The millimeter wave is electromagnetic wave, which spectrum is between the infrared and the microwave spectrum. The range of frequency is from 30GHz to 300GHz. The main developing direction of the MMW technology is collection of the radiate signal in millimeter wave range and dealing with the radiate image. With the developing of the correlative technology, the MMW technology is widely applied in the national defence, spaceflight, and astronomy and so on.The present state of development on the MMW technology is not perfect. So there are many lacunaes to be solved. For example, how to build the VLDB of the MMW radiate characteristic, how to realize the technology of the target identification in the MMW image and so on. Based on the above lacunaes, this paper introduces the 3mm Dicke radiometer imaging system. It can get the image of the different object via the imaging experiment. Then the paper makes the study on the disposal to the above image.Firstly, the paper measures the radiate temperature of the lawn, the water and the cement road by utilizing the 3mm Dicke radiometer. At the same time, the paper analyzes the different MMW radiate temperature of the different caliber aerial on the same object.Secondly, the paper analyzes the structure of the MMW imaging system and the factors, which influence the quality of the radiate image. By utilizing the MMW imaging system, the paper does the imaging experiment on the natural sights, the persons holding the metal, the metal on the cement road and so on. At the same time, this paper analyzes various algorithms in the space or spectrum area, and the way of wavelet to reduce the noise in the image. Then it compares the different algorithms to look for the best way to improve the imaging quality.Finally, the paper makes the disposal of edge detection on the MMW image by using manifold 1st-order or 2nd-order differential operators. Then it analyzes the detecting principles of the differential operators and the factors, which influence the quality of edge detection, to look for the best way to make the disposal of edge detection on the MMW image.
