Structure optimization is a rising field developed in recent decades. It has overcomemany limitations of traditional design technique and has broad applications in manyfields. Decreasing the weight and improving the flexibility of the weapon are the needsof modern war and the development trend of the weapon investigation.This paper mainly focused on the naval gun, based on performance and intensity ofthe naval gun, the finite element analysis and topology optimization which obtained aremarkable effect of weight reducing has been carried out. The main researches are asfollows:①The three dimension model of the naval gun has been built in the environmentof Pro/E, which provides the necessary conditions for the building of the dynamicsequivalent model.②By the launch dynamics simulation, the loads of the key joints whenthe naval gun is launched has been got, which provides the necessary data for the finiteelement analysis and the structure optimization.③The finite element model of the excessweight parts of the naval gun has been built, by the finite element intension analysis ofthe model in two conditions, the displacement and the stress of the key points have beengot, which make us know the distribution of the stress and the transmogrification of theparts.④To satisfy the intension and the precision design request and to decrease theweight of the bracket of the naval gun as much as possible, the part has been topologyoptimized by the structure optimization theory and method.⑤The rotating underprophas been topology optimized by the optimization theory which has been joined thefabrication technology restriction. After the topology optimization, its weight has beendecreased obviously with easily being manufactured.⑥After that, the two new modelshave been analyzed. The contrast of the character change of the old parts and the newparts and the influence on the naval gun system have been studied. The results show thatthe intension and the precision of the part satisfy the design request after the topologyoptimization, the influence on the naval gun is very little, the optimization on the navalgun is successful.
