Power line carrier (PLC) is a special technique of communication in electric power system,which has very important status in communication network of electric power system.In the field of traditional PLC communication, the modulation-demodulation module of PLC were realized with analog methods and devices.This traditional PLC systems can't meet the market demand for higher communication quality. A modulation-demodulation project based on TMS320C6416 is proposed in this paper, which aims at the high speed PLC communication.This thesis generally introduces the development, features and principles of PLC, and the algorithm research of the single sideband (SSB) modulation-demodulation project are detailed. The hardware circuit and software flow scheme of PLC based on DSP are designed. The results of measurement show that the module meets the desirable requirements and improves the system's rate of performance and price. So the system has gotten well economic and social benefits.The result in dicates that the capacity and performance of power line carrier can be greatly improved by digitalization based on digital signal processor (DSP) technique, which might be useful to the further research of digitalization of PLC.
