In recent years, with the increasing of the number of civilian satellites all over the world, query of satellites information has more troubles. The civilian satellite coverage query system is designed to meeting the requirements that users get satellite coverage information over internet and get help to select satellite data. With inputting the latitude, longitude, passing time, loop time, satellite and angle of sensor side-glance(if the sensor can), the system will give the coverage information of target region with Two-dimensional curve and text report.This paper described the design of "civilian satellite coverage enquiry system based on network". This system brings convenience for users. Also, it makes many high quality satellite data can be used easily. Main content of this paper as follows:1. Using the technology about space vehicle and dynamics of orbits to solving the motion equations for civilian satellite and their subsatellite points.2. Promoted a model of sensor coverage according to civilian satellite orbit characteristics—simple rectangular coverage model;3. Using the Matlab Web Sever technology actualized the web application for enquiry system;4. Actualized Simulation for coverage of sensor side-glance;5. Displayed query results exactly with text reports;6. For the purpose of making the civilian satellite users know more informations about the satellite, the enquiry system provide an auxiliary fuction of linking with the satellite database.
