Gardens are one of China's vital traditional cultural carriers, its unique oriental charm leaving you a lingering aftertaste. Since the Northern and Southern Song Dynasties, culture has been improving from general to specific in its self-secluded realm; Cultural art has developing from external extension at one dimension to vertical internal exploration, its demonstrated delicacy unmatched by the Han and Tang Dynasties. As important part f culture, gardens have reached full maturity. Scenic poems, Chinese landscape paintings, and gardens are inextricably intertwined, thus boosting the prosperity of literati gardens, the mainstream of gardening activities in the Song Dynasty, and giving big impetus to boom in gardening techniques and arts.This paper explores literati gardens of the Song Dynasty, expounds the causes and development trends of literati gardens in Chinese ancient feudal society, and analyzing influence of literati atmosphere and Chinese landscape paintings on landscaping, further classifying artistic features of literati garden landscaping with special emphasis on important role of literati atmosphere in literati garden landscaping. Literati in the Song Dynasty enjoyed higher social status than any other periods, and assimilated the quintessence of the Chinese traditional culture, not only participating in garden construction, but also writing essays on gardens. They also attached great importance to poetic imagery creation, integrating imagery of poems and paintings into gardens, Landscaping stress reduction shift Moni, pay attention to "hidden pot days of the" pattern of gardeners, and "Gryllotalpa africona ants, while it is far rhyme" the direction of development, and developing garden construction patterns of Concentrated crystallization of literati's aesthetic interest in gardens spurred literati gardens to reach the pinnacle in this history of Chinese classic gardens.
