Platinum printing,is a historic black-and-white process . This process dates from 1873, when it was introduced by William Willis. As pure platinum is so stable and permanent, the platinum print is the most archival of any image made on paper. Like ordinary silver-emulsion photography, platinum print produces a black-and-white image. However, platinum is much wider in tonal scale. Since platinum prints are always contact printed, with the full-sized negative pressed against the paper and its coated emulsion, all the clarity and details are preserved. A platinum image, well-made and well-handled, should last thousands of years. In china for some reason few photographers practice the platinum print, In this aspect our country progresses later than western countries, This paper focuses to offer a reference to the Chinese photographers and forge the development of Chinese photography.
