Limit balance method is the slope stability analysis of the earliest methods, but also the most perfect way. Limit balance method commonly used mainly: Fellenius method, Bishop method, Janbu method, Morgenstern-Price method, Spencer method, Sarma method, Not balanced transmittance method and so on. The most difference of the methods are that supposes of force of neighboring earth strip are different, the physical meaning of these assumptions is different, and the equilibrium conditions which is meet are different. The paper has made deep research to the disadvantage and advantage of the methods, and compared the slope stability analysis of non-strip distributes with the strip distributes. At the same time, according to the computation is not obvious and the procedure is complex and Deviated from the actual situation. A rapid balance method used to limit slope stability analysis, the method is based on the following three assumptions:1,The sliding face meets the criterion of Mohr—Coulonb;2,The sliding face is composited by straight line and circular curve;3,In the section which is vertical in the sliding face, the normal stress is put forward and shear stress is not considered. In the above three basic assumptions, this paper provides the rapid approach simply enter boundary conditions and slippery surface shear strength parameters can quickly calculate the slope stability factor of safety. The examples show that the calculation results between quick calculation methods and other methods of calculation results are quite identical. In addition, the paper analysis the traditional soil pressure theory (including Coulomb theory and the theory of Lang) and points out the self-contradiction of the theory, combined the above relevant knowledge of the slope stability analysis, raises a method of calculation for soil pressure under normal circumstances, in particularly, the paper deduced the general formulas about heterogeneity soil, for reference.
