The high speed running of train needs a smooth and stable foundation. The subgrade which is the foundation of track system must maintain the designing parameters of track within a standard under the operating condition, and this means that a high quality of stability for. the settlement of subgrade is needed.Therefore, based on the program of "Study on the dynamic stability and deformation properties of the red clay foundation form ballastless track passenger traffic railway , Hunan, China" (50778180) founded by the national science foundation and on the program of "experimental study on the subgrade deformation and stability of subgrade slope form limestone eluvium red clay of Wu-Guang express railway " (2005K002-B-2-1) founded by the national department of the Railway Ministry, this thesis commences on experimental methods, locate origial experiment andanalysis of settlements, set about empirical formula and calculating settlement,and goes deep research into red-clay along Wu-Guang Passenger Special Railway.The main content is as follows:1,Red clay being a special type of soil, demonstrates a lot of gorgraphical differences on project properties.This paper is based on the red clay groundwork in Wu-Guang Passenger Special Railway and the indoors geotextile experiments with samples from typical working sites, and concludes the corelations between its physical and mechanical indices;2,Meanwhile, combining the data of compression test with the field test results, the paper focuses on the study of experience relations among static detect indices (such as cone resistance q_c, side friction resistance f_s, etc);3,The paper focuses on the study of experience relations among standard penetration test blowcount N and compressive modulus Es and the test of relevances. So the results can be used in the project to practise directly;4,Based on Plaxis Limited Element Program, theoretical settlement calculation is made upon typical construction sites.And according to the actual loading and excavation conditions on the site large-scale plate loading test, direct loading and footing groove excavation are considered separately in simulated stratum settlement. Comparing the actual measured values, the transfiguration closer to the limited element calculation is concluded after taking consideration of excavation. Further based on the above method, the earth stratum quality, infiltration coefficient and ratio of poisson are taken into account in respect of influencing red clay foundation.5,Based on concretion theory, major improvement is made on traditional stratum method. Thin stratum method is taken to make the calculation of road foundation concretion settlement.The paper compiles the visual application programme to make calculations of settlement and modified value, with assistance of Visual Basic 6.0 Platform.
