Related parties in ship’s normal operation, such as owners, charterers, P & I clubs and third-party maritime inspection institutions, undertake different responsibilities. In addition, there are many risk factors during ship’s normal operation, such as stevedore damage, collision, grounding, fire and other accidents, and different stakeholders shall undertake different responsibilities in the accident. So they have special requirements on quotation and completion sheet evaluation of ship repairs.However, because ship maintenance price has always been secret for ship repair enterprises and ship maintenance is very professional, so it is a very difficult task to get the accurate quotation and evaluate the completion sheet. Moreover, according to preliminary research results, there is no public version of professional calculation and evaluation software for related parties in ship operation.For the above situation and combined with the existing problems, based on the rigorous research on ship repair market and "Tariff for Ship Repairs", through Visual Basic.NET applications, using Visual Basic.NET programming language to develop a repair price appraisal system. The system is capable of user input quantity of the project and the final repair price, based on project quantity inputs to generate repair price estimate automatically; in accordance with the input quantities and ship repair prices, to assess whether the final repair price is reasonable, in turn, it can automatically output estimate and evaluate the results of formatting. The system has a friendly interface, comprehensive background database system and it can run independently on the windows system.The repair price appraisal system have been validated by practical engineering to be a convenient operation, full-function, versatility and strong adaptability software. |
