In order to improve the transportation capacity of Lanchow-Sinkiang Railway, Ministry of Railways intend to carry out the electrification transformation to the line. For the line passes through Xinjiang hundred-mile wind field, and there are windbreak fences established to guarantee the traffic safety under the strong crosswind environment, after the electrification, whether this kind of lines with windbreak fences will safeguard the well-balanced connection between pantograph and net, insure the train moving safely under the strong wind, and whether the present-height windbreak fence will maintain its good windproof function, that becomes a new topic in the railway electrification transformation process.This article takes the aerodynamics principle as a foundation, uses the numerical simulation calculation to calculate aerodynamic forces of the pantograph and contact net as well as the train, which moves on the electric railway under the windbreak fence and strong crosswind environment. It synthesizes the stable performance of every type of vehicles as well as the relations between the pantograph and contact net, analyzes on the existing windbreak fence's resistance ability to the crosswind, and lucubrates reasonable altitudes of the windbreak fence which can safeguard trains moving on the electric railway. The article introduces the vehicle experiment done in the hundred-mile wind field of Lanchow-Sinkiang Railway, and then, the method of numerical calculation is validated by comparison with vehicle experiment in the end.It is believed that the results of the research provide scientific and reliable gist for the electrification transformation of Lanchow-Sinkiang line, as well as for the perfection and amend of《The Means for Train Moving Safely under Strong-Wind》which executed by Urumchi Railway Bureau at present.
