In China, tall building hybrid structures (TBHS), which are composed with steel frames and concrete core-tubes, have been widely applied. It is rational to research the seismic response of the TBHS. The nonlinear static pushover analysis has become an important part of structural seismic design for its merits of simplicity and practicality. The nonlinear static analysis has become one of nonlinear analysis tools of Chinese seismic code. In this thesis, the seismic response of the TBHS was researched by the pushover analysis method. The main works are as follows:1,Used the space finite element model of TBHS , the paper analyzed one of the most important factor—lateral load pattern which has a great effect on the accuracy of pushover analysis by the ABAQUS software. Then studied how the load pattern affected the seismic capacity, story drifts and the yield mechanism of the TBHS.2,Besides the analysis above, in this paper, based on the elastic spectra in GB50011-2001 and the equations ofμ-R-T on different soil conditions gave by Chinese scholar, an improved capacity spectra method with lateral displacement load pattern was gave.3,The target displacement of TBHS modal pushover analysis is obtained by using the improved capacity spectra method. Compared with employing nonlinear time history method and the traditional improved capacity spectra method, the displacement-based improved capacity spectra method can gave reliable seismic evaluation result.
