The tracked armored vehicle, as the main ground fighting equipment for the army, is urgently required to improve the ride environment, and increase the cross-country power and maneuver. The intelligent suspension system, as the key technique for the walking part of the military vehicle, can coordinately solve these problems better.A new kind of semi-active seat suspension rebuilt from the traditional seat suspension is proposed in this paper, on the foundation of fully understanding of the riding condition of existing tracked armored vehicle and comprehensive analysis of the general condition of seat suspension development. And the MR damper whose damp is adjustable is used to take place of traditional damper in the new seat suspension. This semi-active suspension has simple structure and low energy consumption and it occupies little space. So it is very suitable applied in the seat of tracked armored vehicle to improve riding comfort and maneuvering security. The virtual prototyping technique and the fuzzy control technique are used in the research. The virtual prototype of seat semi-active suspension system is established using ADAMS software and full vehicle model is built using ATV, and the vibration analysis of the tracked armored vehicle on the enhanced road surface also is completed, with the driver-vehicle-seat coupled. The MR damper whose damp is adjustable is used as the actuator of semi-active control, using fuzzy control as control strategy. And the ADAMS and MATLAB are used together for the co-simulation of the whole mechanical and electrical system. Based of the research of the simulation the experiment table for the X-shape semi-active seat suspension of tracked armored vehicle is built and the experiment research is completed. The result of the co-simulation and experiment investigations shows that the vehicle seat semi-active suspension system with fuzzy controller can markedly reduce the vertical vibration acceleration of the seat by 45%~50% and effectively improve the riding comfort and maneuvering security, so the operational effectiveness of tracked armored vehicle is also improved.In the research, first summarize and synthesize the developing process of the military tracked armored vehicle seats, and then borrow ideas from the damp techniques inside-outside the army, and put forward the adaptability and necessity of the semi-active suspension used in the military vehicles. Secondly, based on the existing drive seat of some tank, modify dimensions, and optimize the dynamics parameters with the aim for comfort, and further more, build its virtual prototype in the ADAMS software and its ATV module, and make the "Car-Seat-People" a whole to research the damp of the vehicle. Thirdly, through analysis and comparison, use the MR damper as the semi-active actor, the fuzzy control technique as the control strategy, and build the complete semi-active control system of the seat. In the end, on the base of co-simulation and simple experiment table, continuously improve level of the semi-active control, and test and verify the effect of the suspension.
