Power communication management machine is important equipment that data is transmitted secondly in the power automation system. It plays an important role in power monitoring system. In recent years, high-performance embedded systems and the development of ARM microcontrollers provided the basis of software and hardware for the design of new products. A new power communications management machine was designed on the basis of the hardware platform based on the LPC2294 in the paper, based on in-depth analysis and study of the embedded system architecture—uClinux embedded operating system kernel.The system achieves the conversion between different agreements based on the platform of ARM hardware and the use of uClinux embedded operating system. Management of communication collects the data into a unified TCP/IP protocol packet and sends to the PC, will also be issued to the top of the TCP/IP packet of conversion kits in line with the agreement of the field data. Overall design of system achieved two major parts—hardware design and software design. Hardware included: the power circuit, liquid crystal display circuit, RJ45 circuit, CAN interface circuits, RS232/485 interface circuit and GPRS communications module interface circuit. Software included: CAN controllers driver, SPI driver and the TCP/IP protocol software and GPRS wireless communications software. In addition, the paper also analyzed CAN, Modbus, TCP/IP protocol and the uClinux kernel tailoring, the transplant process.Power communication management machine carries mainly out the effective convergence between host computer and equipment at the scene. Not only for the power control system, but it can also be integrated automation system in the coal as the secondly transmitted equipment. The author of the design of the system only realized the embryonic form of power communication management machine. The paper needs further analysis, research and commissioning work. In this paper, the research and development is useful experiment worked for the power communication management machine in the aspect to improve the function of communications management machine.
