With economic development and the continuous improvement of people's living standards, People on the remote automatic meter reading system has been increasingly strong demand. Use the remote automatic meter reading system can improve the accuracy of meter reading and conserve human resources , which can reduce the estimated or transcription error, the management obtain timely and accurate data use the system.The automatic meter reading system designed in this issue uses CAN bus,Low-voltage power line carrier communication technology and GPRS wireless communication technology. The system is formed with smart meters,data collection,data concentrator and data center, such components. Focus on the issue of data collection,data-focused,low-voltage power line carrier and the CAN bus part.In the automatic meter reading systems, data communication plays a very important aspect. In the design of the topic, data communication is divided into two tiers according to the actual situation. The first layer is billing terminals and data communications between the concentrator, the second is the remote communication between data-focused and data centers with the GPRS communication. The first layer includes the two parts of the data communications, One is the communication between the end-to-billing and data collection used the low-voltage power line carrier communication, the other is the communication between data collection and data-focused used the CAN bus.Introduce and compare the characteristics of several technologies on the current low-voltage power line carrier. Describe the basic principles of spread spectrum communication in detail. Make a comparative analysis of the current variety on low-voltage power line carrier chip's performance and characteristics. Make a final decision to choose PL3201 power line carrier chip.Finally completed the design of the system's hardware and software, Described the centralized meter reading which designed with the CAN bus and PL3201 in detail. Complete the network design and implementation of the modem communications devices use GPRS communications module.
