Light Phenomenon In The Architectural Space

This paper focuses on interior lighting of architecture by natural light.Comparing the lighting designs in many historic buildings worldwide via case studies,their profound effects on aesthetics,perception and emotion in large-scale environments are studied,the relationship between illuminance and visual perception is discussed,the difference between the west and the east in daylight design/utilization is indicated.Furthermore,for the first time,the author introduces a novel term,Spiritual Atmosphere,to refer the psychological effect from atmosphere-creating designs.
