State measurement is the basis of analysis and control of power system. The traditional monitoring and data acquisition (SCADA) are focusing on the monitoring of steady-state operation of the system, wide area measurement system will improve the monitoring of power system from steady-state level to dynamic level, and create conditions for dynamic analysis and control of power system.Combined with an actual research project, this thesis carried out a study on the software of Network Capable Application Processor module (NCAP). And to build the data transmission network which meets the requirements of real-time communication, ensure measurement data uploaded fast and accurately. Through the data of the control center collected by NCAP, the real-time operation state of power system can be monitored online by user, it will facilitate to analysis and decision-making of the system, and achieve security infrastructure monitoring and control of power system. Its value is important to provide real-time dynamic information when the system disturbance or failure, and provide important basis and control for transient stability analysis.The NCAP module of the power system phasor measurement units designed in the project is mainly to complete the main interface driver of communication, data processing, protocol conversion, task scheduling functions, etc. Specific performance in the following aspects:ARM9 act as the embedded hardware platform of NCAP, build a cross compiler environment, and transplant embedded multi-tasking Linux operating system according to the demand for the system of NCAP.Device driver design based on the kernel of Linux 2.6. TII interface which is based on the protocol of IEEE1451.2 and the SMC universal data interface-driver based on AMBA bus are mainly designed and implemented in the paper.Design the application software of NCAP system, including the hardware communication interface operation, as well as implementing the protocol of IEEE 1451.2 and IEEE C37.118. The communication program between NCAP and server is designed by UDP network protocol.Software platform test, and results analysis are set at the end of the paper, it's verify the correctness and effectiveness of the software platform, as well as the feasibility of the program and achieves the goal expected.
