The line loss of power network is caused in every step in the process of transmission, distribution, and utilization of electrical energy. Management line loss is an important element in cost of power supply enterprise. With the development of market economy, it requests the power supply enterprise to take the economic efficiency as a center, at the same time to make use of the resource most efficiently. Therefore more reasonable and precise calculation of the theoretical line loss is a power tool for power department to analyze the loss component, and to constitute measure to reduce the line loss rate. It also has a great importance in accelerating the power enterprise to reduce energy consuming, draw out potential, increase economic efficiency, optimize project designs, and strengthen operation management.Along with power system's increasingly complexity, technique difficulty and workload in the management and calculation of line loss become greater. Former theoretical line loss calculation and analysis systems are comparatively drop behind without graphics input section. It requests us to number the nodes according to line graphics, and input the data for analysis manually. The data input is fussy, and the calculation is abstract. A lot of line parameters are needed to input in tables, unable to realize strict intuitionist input. The line loss is proportional to the load current's square. Along with the development of electrical energy utilization level, these drawbacks will become more and more evident, increasing the management difficulty of power supply enterprise. Therefore it's a trend to explore a more applied line loss management system with the development of computer technology and its popularization scientific research domain.This paper firstly analyzes the actuality and development trend of power network line loss calculation inside and outside, analyzes all levels power network's loss component based on configuration and utilization characteristics of different voltage levels grid. The paper expatiates at basic knowledge of power network line loss calculation, and compares the main algorithm methods usually used such as the root-mean-square electric current law, the maximum current law, the mean current law, the equivalent resistance law and so on.Then, this paper executes power flow calculation by means of analyzing the network's structure, equipment parameter and real time information. The result data is analyzed to solve the line loss of transmission and distribution network. The submit report form is formed at the same time, supplying some reasonable measures to reduce the line loss rate. The design aims at exploring precise, reliable and applied power network line loss calculation and analysis system by taking advantages of automatization information and computer net technology provided by the modern power network, in order to provide theoretical basis in loss reducing , management and energy saving and for all levels of power supply enterprises.At last, this paper analyzes the Zoucheng power supply company's 110 KV Gngyuan line using the new system introduced above, educes loss-reducing measures such as adjusting voltage of some zone, changing type of line, verifying transformer's economically operation and so on.
