Research And Application Of The Amount Of Travelling Vehicles Model

The city traffic jam and congestion is serious. This Phenomenon has already beeome one of the focus Problems.Since the 1980s, in order to improve the current situation of city traffic, the researcher of traffic engineering begin to study the whole way systematically by network, analyze and probe into the macro capacity of whole networks, and some achievements have been obtained. however, there isn't a method that can figure out the amount of the traveling vehicles on roads up to date.The writer analyze the research result of home and abroad,and point out the advantages and disadvantages of all kinds of methods. On the basis of classic principle of traffic flow rate, velocity, traffic density,the writer give birth to computing model and computing method of the amount of travelling vehicles, and the capacity of road network. The both problem of how many vehicles are traveling on road and how many vehicles the road network can deal with can be resolved then,so the two models can provide vehicle accommodating capacity of the city with possible theoretic foundation.In the paper, I take Qingdao city road network as an example imputing the amount of travelling vehicles during the peak time and the capacity of road network , figure out the theoretic capacity and give an outlook of vehicle amount of the city.In the end of the paper, I summarized the fruits of my work and I put up directional suggestions of researching emphases for the future. I hope it have valuable try for the study on capacity of urban road network.
