China's Urban Residential District Waterscape Study

As a valuable resource on earth, and as the material basis for human survival, since ancient times water is closely related to the people's living environment. Until now, water has become an integral element of the urban residential landscape in China.From the retrospective and comparative of history of residential landscape of the East and West, the related elements and the basic principles to create the urban residential landscape are extracted in this paper. Different models of planning of urban residential water landscape are analyzed, and technology strategy to create urban residential landscape is summed up in this paper. Finally, combined with the cases of Changsha and Xi'an, views and suggestions are put forward on creating urban residential landscape in China.The full text is divided into eight chapters, as follows:Chapter I: This article discusses the research background, domestic and foreign research and research framework.Chapter II: Looking back and comparing to the different development history of residential landscape of the East and West, Philosophical system, Manifestations and character on water landscape of Eastern and Western are explored in this chapter.Chapter III: The basic principles of creating residential water landscape in China is refined and elucidated in the paper. It is adhering to sustainable development, focusing on eco-design, emphasizing on research and development of new technologies, as well as the participation and safety of residents.Chapter IV: First of all, this chapter summarizes different models of planning of residential water landscape in China, which is central-type layout, linear layout, surround-type layout etc. Secondly, the different forms of urban residential water landscape in China are interpretred and analyzed in this chapter, -- - static and dynamic.Chapter V: This chapter summarizes related elements of creating urban residential water landscape in China, that is buildings, bridges, revetment, scenic stone, plants, etc, and analysis the different role and characteristics of these elements in the adjuvant to the water landscape.Chapter VI: This chapter focuses on technology strategy on urban residential water landscape in China, which is reclaimed water technology and rainwater utilization technology, at the same time suggestions on the day-to-day maintenance of the water landscape and creating and maintenance of water landscape in winter are proposed respectively.Chapter VII: Case Studies. Based on research of the above-mentioned six chapters, two types of waterfront, water-based artificial living cell in Changsha and Xi'an are analyzed respectively as the typical cases in this chapter, and views and suggestions on the development of water landscape in Changsha and Xi'an are put forward.Chapter VIII: Conclusion. Researches on this paper are summarized in this chapter.
