Steel reinforced concrete (SRC) structures are extensively utilized in multi-storey and high-rise structures. It has distinct economic and structural advantages, such as high load bearing capacity, excellent earthquake resistance qualities, and good anti-erosion proper- ties. But there is still lack of researches on the fire resistant behavior of SRC columns. Perfect design code and technology regulations were not promulgated yet. So researching the fire resistant behavior of SRC columns to ensure the safety under fire loads is valuable for practical engineering.The main contents are as follow:Firstly, by reviewing the relevant literatures and comparing the research results of different researchers of foreigners and Chinese,thermal and mechanical properties of concrete and steel at high temperatures are selected. Especially thermal and mechanical properties as the temperature decreasing are established .Secondly, a general finite element software ANSYS is utilized to establish the 3D model for calculating the temperture field and mechanical performances of SRC columns during the whole period of fire, which is verified by experiments data. Typical deformation -time curve of SRC columns during the whole period of fire is obtained. And then the key points and main behavior of the curve are analyzed.Thirdly, influence of parameters on the mechanical performance of SRC columns during the whole period of fire and residual deformation ratio is analyzed. Conclusions are as follow: as to the mechanical performance of SRC columns during the whole period of fire , the main influencing parameters are load ratio, temperature ascending time ratio, sectional dimension ,slenderness ratio ,depth to width ratio of the section and steel ratio; as to the residual deformation ratio, the main influencing parameters are load ratio, temperature ascending time ratio, sectional dimension and steel ratio.
