The main span of Yongxiu large bridge is (32.5+128+32.5) m, which is a rigid frame through tied-arch bridge in Changjiu passenger special line. The adopted type of the bridge is first applied in our high-speed railway bridges. In this paper, mechanical behavior analysis of the bridge and the arch-pie joint were studied. Further more, a 1:3 reduced-scale model was designed and produced, and model test was completed under three worst-cases of load. Thus the systematic study was made with respect to the structural and mechanical behavior of the bridge. The prime tasks were summarized as follows:1. Space finite element analysis of the bridge was accomplished under the dead load and worst-case of live load adopting ANSYS and Midas separately. The results show that the stresses of bridge are reasonable, the stiffness and strength meet the requirements.2. Based on the finite element analysis of the bridge, a refine local space finite element analysis of the bridge was completed under three worst-cases of load. The results show that the stresses of concrete and steel components at the arch-pie joint meet the requirements.3. A 1:3 reduced-scale model of the arch-pie joint was designed and produced. Moreover, the test method was studied and test scheme was determined. Space finite element analysis of the test model was accomplished based on test scheme. The results show that the results of the model test finite element analysis and the real arch-pie joint finite element analysis coincid well, and the test scheme of the test model was feasible.4. Model test was completed under three worst-cases of load. The results of test were compared with the theoretical values. The results showed that the test values and theoretical values coincid well, the stress of the arch-pie joint transmitts smoothly, the structure strength meets the requirement, and the load capacity is much more margin.The production of this paper can provide the basis for the design and the construction of Yongxiu large bridge and provide references for other similar structures.
