Automatic Carrier Landing System (ACLS) is one of the key technologies of modern carrier. ACLS can alleviate the pilot's burden alleviation, improve the landing precision and reduce flight accidents. Based on the basic principles of flight dynamics and flight control, the paper designed the guidance and control law of ACLS, developed the ACLS simulation software. The main contents and conclusions are summarized as follows:1. The circumstance and principle of ACLS are expatiated, the composition of ACLS are explained.2. The Design criteria ang basic structure of ACLS are analysed. automatic power compensator system(APCS), the longitudinal guidance and control law of ACLS, carrier deck motion compensator are designed.3. The lateral guidance and control law of ACLS, carrier deck motion compensator are designed.4. Developed the ACLS simulation software. Under different sea conditions and initial aircraft state simulation results are obtained and analysed. The results show that the ACLS can control the aircraft landing on the carrier easily at different condition. ACLS can eliminate the influence of the carrier air disturbance and carrier deck motions, revise the track departure automatically, and control the landing track of the aircraft and safely landing on the carrier accurately.
