During all phases of carrier approach, landing is the highest dangerous phase. In order to design a safety and reasonable approach procedure, deal with the phenomenon of unstable speed and uncontrolled track, and reduce the pilot workload in low dynamic pressure situation, this thesis proposes an approach procedure for carrier-based aircraft and designs an approach power compensation system (APCS) for turboprop aircraft.Firstly, according to weather and pilot visual conditions, this thesis suggests a classification method for carrier-based aircraft landing pattern, which classes the landing pattern as three types: visual flight approach and visual landing, instrumented approach and visual landing, and instrumented approach and automatic landing. At the same time, the flight procedures and guiding devices for the three landing patterns are studied, respectively. The suggestion of the standard approach procedures are proposed based on the analysis of the influence of aircraft type, visibility, etc.Secondly, APCS, one of the critical techniques during carrier-based aircraft landing, is studied in this thesis. It is generally considered that turboprop aircraft has a better performance in low-speed situation than the jet. The mathematical model of turboprop aircraft in the state of landing is established, and simulation results indicate that it is necessary to design APCS for turboprop aircraft in low dynamic pressure situation. Therefore, the attitude control system of aircraft is designed first in this thesis to control the attitude of aircraft, and then APCS with constant airspeed and the APCS with constant angle of attack are designed and tested by simulation experiments, respectively. Experimental results show that both of the systems possess a satisfied performance on the path angel tracking attitude angle. Finally, the comparative analysis on APCS for the turboprop aircraft and for the jet further dissects the physical reasons of the trajectory uncontrollable and the principles of APCS in low dynamic pressure situation during the carrier-based aircraft landing. The contributions of this thesis are providing reference for carrier aircraft crew training, and the APCS for turboprop aircraft is studied in the first time in this thesis, which has a significant influence on both theory and engineering applications.
