New Steel And Vanadium Cold Rolling Mill Rolling Mill Drive System

With the development of the power electronics technology and microelectronics technology, the technology of Adjustable-Speed ac Drive has been improved greatly. Now, the characteristics of AC Drive can be compared with that of DC Drive. In modern steel enterprises, whether it is new building or just was revamped in technology, the system of Adjustable-Speed ac Drive has been replaced the system of Adjustable-Speed dc Drive, and it has been the master force in motor Driving- system.This paper is derived from a proposal, which is just a technological project of Cold Rolling Mill of Xin Gangfan L.M. of Panzhihua Iron and Steel (Group) Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "The Cold Rolling Mill of Xin Gangfan "). The article wants to study how to do, if adapting a Adjustable-Speed ac Drive to control the equipment, now which is been controlled by the Adjustable-Speed dc Drive.The main results are as follows:First, the article describes the situation in production of the Cold Rolling Mill of Xin Gangfan. The paper analyzes the situation of HC Mill (High Crown Control of Mill) through the two aspects of the technical level and motor-testing. It concludes the problem needed to resolve, and proves that it is necessary to be revamped. And it puts forward that it is possible to revamp Adjustable-Speed dc Drive to Adjustable-Speed dc Drive.Secondly, the paper compares the characteristics of synchronous and asynchronous motor which is the concerned in Adjustable-Speed ac Drive. And the article explains and comparably analyzes the theory and method of Adjustable-Speed ac Drive.Thirdly, according the operating parameters that requested by the production line of the Cold Rolling Mill of Pangang, the paper proves a revamping project. The project includes the selection of motor, the calculation of the electrical capacity of motor, the selection of speed-control mode. Also the paper analyses and put forward to the revamping project of related supporting facilities.Finally, the paper draws a conclusion in this study.
