Chinese cabbage-pak-choi is the vegetable loved by many Chinese customers. Carrying out researches on the agronomic traits of early maturing Chinese cabbage-pak-choi and breeding heat-tolerant, high-yielding, disease-resistant new varieties will play an active role in pak-choi new variety breeding, enriching pak-choi varieties and promoting pak-choi production.Our studies show that:Purple-tsaitai F1 Hybrid-"Wucaihuangtai No.1" matures extremely early. It takes only 45 days from seeding to collection,18 days earlier than "Zhuzhou early Tsai-taiⅢ" And the early yield of "Wucaihuangtai No.1" is 164% higher than that of "Zhuzhou early Tsai-taiⅢ" while bacterial soft rot incidence 71.7% lower, downy mildew disease index 163% lower. Difference between main stem diameter and side stem diameter, difference between main stem weight and side stem weight of ""Wucaihuangtai No.1" are 12.5% and 32.3%, while the comparison data of "Zhuzhou early Tsai-taiⅢ" are 127% and 163%. All these show that the economical value of ""Wucaihuangtai No.1" is higher than "Zhuzhou early Tsai-taiⅢ"After a study on the co-relationship between heat tolerance and maturity, we judge the heat tolerance ability of early Chinese cabbage-pak-choi through comparing their yield 24-30 days after seeding on seedbed without transplanting them. Results show that heat tolerance ability and early yield is positively related, and ""Wucaihuangtai No.1" is a new extreme early, heat tolerant, Chinese cabbage-pak-choi variety.Fittest sowing period and cultivation density of ""Wucaihuangtai No.1" are also studied. Results show fittest sowing period is early and middle August and best cultivation density is 30×40cm between lines,4500 cabbages per 667 m2.
