Wireless sensor networks—new way of information acquisition, has become more and more popular in medical care,environmental monitoring,industry control monitoring and many other field. It has the abilities of sensing,computing,storing and wireless transmission. it can form a network by self-organizing and accomplish collecting data,processing data and transmitting data in the area it covers. The characteristics of WSN enable it to perform well in facility agriculture and carry out sensing,collecting,real-time monitoring the environment information. Thus, supplying the foundation to adjust to the good condition of the environment in facility agriculture.This paper is supported by the science and technology schedule of Jiangsu Province. We realize a system of wireless sensor networks under the situation of the facility agriculture. The system can monitor the interior environment by itself. Further-more we take a step to build a growth models of the crops in order to adjust the environment of the crops in facility agriculture more reliability.In the paper, we analyse the specific demand of the facility agriculture. Combining with the characteristics of WSN, we design a structure of the system of wireless sensor networks based on facility agriculture. Then the sensor node is designed and realized. We choose the MC13213 from Freescale company to be the controller of the node. After the node is able to work, we try to make the nodes to communicate with each other. In this part, we achieve the physical layer,MAC layer,network layer,application layer from the perspective of the engineering project. And then develop the platform for users to access the WSN. This procedure eases the users to monitor the specific area even far away. When the system we've design works well, we try to use growth models of the crops to design a decision making systems. We've described the growth models and checked if it gives the correct decision. And then we describe some tests for the WSN system we've done during development. These tests ensure the parts of system working all right and conform it to perform as we want. At last, we conclude what we have done in the paper and anticipate the future work for the system.
