The experiment for this treatise has been done in the Test Base Field of Jintian Group of Guanyun County. The study is one part of the major cotton science and technology project of the Nmeth Five-year National Plan, The Study on Improving the Key Technology of Getting ?50?High Yield of Lint Cotton. The experiment, based on the result of specializing in getting ?50?of cotton yield for 2 years of 1996 and 1997, is designed for detterming the suitable population of getting ?50? The study has analisesd the population components and yield components and the characteristics of accumulation development of dry matter The study also has given the comprehensive judgement to the yield property of six fruit parts of plant. The study has got 4 aspects of the result. 1. In the Huaibei cotton producing areas, the population of 3000 plants per 667m2 is the most suitable for getting 150kg per 667m2 lint yield of cotton. 2. The population for getting ?50? for being got the goal of more boils and high boll weight and high lint percent, must have more fruit branches and fruit nets, and good quality of population, it can get more boils and rational timal and spacial distribution of cotton boils to get high boll weight and high lint percent.The population about 3000 plants per 667m2 is the most suitable for realizing the purpose of getting 150kg per 667m2 lint yield. 3. The dry matter accumulation of the population for getting ?50?requires high total accumulation and high percentage economical index. It requires that the dry matter development of nutritional and reproductive organs must be reasonable in every stage of cotton development and every stratum of cotton plants. In every stratum and every stage of development of plant, repaired to the population of getting ?50? the development of accumulation of dry matter of treatment A5 is too early, and that of treatment Al is too latei and that of treatment A3 is reasonable. The results show that the trearment A3 is the best populatin in getting ?50? 4. Based on the ?20?yield level, getting ?50?must realize the improvement of comprehensive property for getting high yield of all 6 yield parts. At the population of 2400 plants per 667m2, based on the improvement of comprehensive property for getting high yield, the main goal for getting ?50? should be the 3 inside parts. But the total fruit nets of the 3 inside parts is limited, so at this population the successfi.d percentage of getting ?50?is low At the population of 3000 plants per 667m2, based on the improvement of comprehensive property for getting high yield, the main goal for getting ?50? should be the 3 outside parts. As the total fruit nets of 3 outside parts is unlimited, at this population the sucessfi?percentage of getting ?50?is high. At the population of 3600 plants per 667m2, as the population can not realize the improvement of comprehensive property for getting high yield in all 6 yield parts, it is difficulte to get ?50?at the population of 3600 plants per 667m2.
